If you tried the salad from Tuesday, you can try this drink to use up the rest of your blood oranges. This drink is inspired by recipe found in a 1950’s drink book, so what you’ll find here is small but potent!





Makes 1 serving

  1. Juice 2 small blood oranges. Strain it into a shaker.
  2. Pour into the shaker 1 jigger each brandy and amaretto. (Or half a jigger each if you want it less alcoholic.) If you have shot glasses instead of jiggers, pour in 1 1/2 shots each or 3/4 shots each if you want it less alcoholic.
  3. Put a handful of ice or frozen fruit in the shaker and shake and pour into your glass. Note: I added in frozen cranberries because they add a tart flavor to balance out the sugary oranges.
  4. Drink! (Only if you’re over 21, though, of course.)
